Warped Wine Wednesday #1
Well why not? We are Warped...we like Wine...and its Wednesday...pretty easy decision here!
We thought it would be interesting to see how different wines pair up with not only Warped cigars but also that of different tobacco's. Today we will be reviewing both how La Colmena Amado No. 44 pairs up with a Chateau De Barbe Blanche, as well as a review of the wine itself.
Our Retail Coordinator Mike is somewhat of a wine freak. His family even has a small family run operation on their property in North Carolina, where they make their own wine, grappa, and limoncello. We spoke about this idea to pair different cigars and wine, and decided to give it a test run. We hope you enjoy it!

La Colmena Amado No. 44 Pairing
Overview: The Amado No. 44 has this white pepper start and then beings its transition into its fruit, honey, and spice profile that paired well with this Saint-Emilion Bordeaux. While the wine was not intensely powerful, it matched Colmena's body perfectly which allowed for both features of the cigar and wine to shine through on their own.
The Barbe Blanche offers a lingering fruit aspect that compliments nicely with the spice of Colmena that is honestly hard to ignore.
We honestly were a bit skeptical on how the wine would perform with Colmena, but Mike assured us that it would compliment the blend, and he was right. At $20 a bottle its a great wine to stand alone or pair with Colmena and frankly would pair well with any lighter (less spicy) medium body blend.
Grab a bottle, and see for yourself.
